What to watch on Netflix

I’m a huge fan of Netflix. I’m more here for the series than the movies however but I just prefer to watch a series in general. Also if you know me you’ll know when I start a series I literally dedicate my life to it and usually binge-watch several years of a show in a few weeks… I thought I’d make a list of my favourite shows on Netflix as I know a lot of you will be looking for a show to watch over the summer if you’re a student like me or if you’re just looking for something new to watch. I’ve linked the trailers to the first seasons of the shows which I recommend watching as they’ll probably help in deciding whether you want to watch them!

Gossip Girl – Trailer

No of seasons: 6. (2007-2012).

Rating: 6.5/10.

I watched Gossip Girl for the first time when I was 15 and it was the first series I properly got into. If you like girly, dramatic, boy-orientated, American shows then this one is for you. It’s set in New York and features some fab locations, we all love a bit of Chuck and Blair or Serena and Nate (in my case). It’s also really easy to watch and get into, however it is my least favourite on my list purely because the storylines can drag out a little.

Pretty Little Liars – Trailer

No of seasons: 7. (2010-2017).

Rating: 10/10.

I’ve literally watched PLL five or six times now, I’ve lost count I’ve seen it that much. It’s honestly my favourite series ever and even though other series have come close, nothing has beaten it yet! I love the friendship dynamics in this show as well as the relationships of course (personally I’m here for Aria and Ezra and Hanna and Caleb). This series would be perfect if you like girly shows with elements of illegality, drama and mystery!

Riverdale – Trailer

No of seasons: 2 (2016-)

Rating: 8.5/10

I started watching Riverdale last year after I’d heard a few good things about it and I wasn’t disappointed. The storylines are really interesting and there’s always a lot going on which keeps you hooked. This isn’t as girly as the others I’ve mentioned as most of my friends who are boys watch it and love it! It definitely has large elements of mystery and drama, if you’ve seen PLL you’ll love this. I’ve also got a lot of my friends watching it so it must be good!

Dynasty – Trailer

No of seasons: 1 (2017-)

Rating: 8/10

I’ve watched this series since it started and I love it!! Again, this isn’t particularly girly so it could be up your street if you prefer that. It’s very modern and current with their humour and references which is refreshing! Dynasty is one of the least dramatic series out of all my faves but you will like it if you enjoy family-drama storylines, 21st century humour and lots of glamour. There are also a few cliffhangers which has left me impatiently waiting for season two to air!

Suits – Trailer

No of seasons: 7 (2011-)

Rating: 9.5/10

Suits is my latest obsession and I’m also not up to date yet so no spoilers! Suits is definitely a close second to PLL for my all-time favourite series as I love the friendships, the relationships, the drama and most of all, the wardrobe! I’m not going to lie, the only reason I started watching the show was because of Meghan Markle and my new found love for her since the Royal Wedding. I’m really glad I did start watching it and even if you aren’t a fan of Meghan, I would highly recommend it anyway! This is the least girly out of all the series I’ve mentioned but to say I’m clearly a huge fan of cheesy, gossipy, overly dramatic shows, I love this one and it’s none of those!!
