Neutrals for Ascot

Last week my godparents had an Ascot themed anniversary party! I was super excited to get dressed up as I don’t do it very often (you might have noticed I seem to live in jeans and t-shirts). Even though I did wear neutral colours I went out of my comfort zone! See what I wore and where I got it from below.

Cream High Waisted Straight Leg Trousers – PLT – I ordered a bunch of white trousers from Pretty Little Thing and these were my favourite, the material is lovely and doesn’t feel cheap which is a fear of mine when ordering online. They fit really nicely and I love the flared bottoms, I’ve been wanting to debut a trouser-look for a while but I’m always too scared to go out of my comfort zone too much! These trousers are super comfortable and not restrictive which I love because there’s nothing worse than feeling like you can’t move because your trousers are too tight!

High Neck Side Split Crop Top – PLT – I love a high neck moment as I feel like they suit me and as I wanted something a little more dressy for the occasion I felt like a high neck was appropriate! This top is super high quality because of the ribbed material and the cut outs at either side give it some edge. I did sew the sides a little so the cut outs weren’t as big as I probably would have felt a little exposed!

Black Suedette Block Heels – New Look – These heels are super versatile and you can literally wear them with anything. I’d advise everyone to have a pair of these in their wardrobe because whenever you might be in doubt as to what shoes to wear you can just throw these on! I prefer a block heel to a stiletto just because they’re comfier and easier to walk in! Also as I was in all black and white I had to wear a black heel!

Black Faux Fur Shoulder bag – PLT – This little bag is super cute for these more dressy occasions and actually fits quite a lot in! The silver chain is what makes the outfit for me as I wear silver jewellery and the chain just makes it all look more polished in my opinion.

Black Lace Bralet – Primark – Seeing as though my top had cut outs on the sides I wanted to wear a cute bralet underneath as I knew it would be showing. This lovely one from Primark was only £4 and I can see myself wearing it whenever I wear a top that would show it!

My rings are all Pandora and my watch is Skagen, watch out for an accessories post coming soon.
