Favourite trainers

This week we’re looking at my favourite, most worn trainers! This post was also inspired by one of my best friends, Kiran, click here for a link to her post.

I’m definitely a shoe person rather than a bag person and always have been. I basically live in trainers, they’re so comfy and easy to style, you cannot go wrong with any of these!

Vans Checkerboard Classic Slip-On Shoes – Vans – These slip-ons are my absolute fave shoes ever, they’re so comfy and go with basically anything, I would own every colour of Vans slip-ons if I could! Slip-ons are a perfect spring/summer shoe, however I have to wear them all year round as I couldn’t live without them!

Vans Old Skool Shoes in Black – Vans – Literally everyone owns a pair of these but they are perfect for any weather and for when you’re unsure on what shoe to pair with your outfit as they go with anything! They’re such a staple shoe and are really affordable compared to other brands.

Adidas NMD R1 from Footlocker. Similar links – Foot AsylumFootlocker, JD Sports – I will never not be obsessed with my NMDs, honestly the comfiest trainers ever. I’ve had them almost two years and it still feels like I’m walking on clouds! I have them in black and white, there’s probably a theme forming but I live in neutral colours. I wear these to the gym and just for fashion, they’re the perfect shoe as they can switch between activewear and leisurewear.

Adidas Superstars – Foot Asylum, Office, JD Sports – I’ve recently rediscovered my Superstars as I had forgot I had them, they were super dirty and discoloured so I obviously had to make them look good as new before I wore them again. I remember when I was little I owned a pair of white Superstars and it’s so funny that I have a pair now, that just shows how much of a staple they are! I am a huge fan of white trainers, especially in the warmer months and I just love how iconic they are.

February favourites

February went by so quickly!! What happened?! However, I am back with another monthly favourites! These are just a few of my favourite things I have been loving throughout the month.

Timberland Slim Premium 6 Inch Boots – Office – This month I’ve rediscovered my Timberlands, I was given them for my 16th birthday almost three years ago and I was obsessed with them! Since then they’ve been in the box hidden away in my room so I had forgotten about them. We have had a few days of snow in the UK and they are perfect for keeping you warm and dry! They are so cute and I just love how they look.

Mario Badescu facial spray with Aloe Cucumber and Green Tea – Beauty Bay – OKAY so this is my new favourite facial spray, it’s suuuper refreshing and cooling. I love it so much, you have got to try it if you haven’t already!!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – Superdrug – I rediscovered this mascara in February and honestly why did I stop using it? It’s amazing, no clumps and makes your lashes so long.

*Bioderma Photoderm Max SPF 50+ Tinted aquafluid (light colour) – Bioderma – Personally, I’m a huge fan of tinted moisturisers as I rarely wear foundation and I often have red areas so the tint makes my skin colour more even. This one looks really nice on your skin! The SPF 50+ is super important as well, even though I live in England where we rarely see the sun!

*Bioderma Sébium shine-control moisturiser – Bioderma – The packaging for this moisturiser is so cute and unique, it gives my skin a matte base as well as being really moisturising. Bioderma has skincare ranges to suit every skin type which is perfect as a lot of brands don’t offer that.

John Frieda Secret Agent Flawless Finishing Crème – Superdrug – This is another product I’ve rediscovered as I lost it for a couple of months… I bought it last summer when I had my hair done with a grey ombré (click here for a flashback) and as I’m a natural brunette it obviously damaged my hair. This product is perfect for dyed, dry hair as it tames fly-aways and makes your hair easier to style!

Film/series of the month – Fifty Shades Freed – I absolutely love this film series and the third film didn’t disappoint! I love what they did with the storyline and it was full of plot twists, if you are yet to see it, I highly recommend it! And I’m not much of a film-watcher!

App of the month – VSCO – I have been using VSCO for years, it’s definitely my go-to for editing any photos! They’ve recently released more filters and they’re all so good! However, it could be a while before you catch me changing the filter I use on my personal Instagram… If you would like a blog post dedicated to how I edit my photos on both of my Instagrams, let me know.

What most of you probably won’t know is that I had Scoliosis (curvature of the spine) for almost all of my teenage years. I was diagnosed when I was 14 and had the corrective surgery when I was 17. For those of you interested, or have it yourself the degree of my curve was 45.

Scoliosis made me super self-conscious and often left me in huge amounts of pain, it would interfere in everything I did I was always thinking about how much discomfort I’d be in or how my curve would look.

I took the difficult decision to have spinal fusion even though it came with risks, I would have done anything to lessen the curve which was gradually progressing. Looking back at where I was and what was happening on this day one short year ago is madness to me, it really changed my life for the better and I finally had what most people take for granted, a straight spine.

If you’re reading this and you have Scoliosis and have the option of surgery, I say go for it, I wasn’t sure about it at first either but I’m sooo glad I had it! Also if you’d like any advice/tips/someone to talk to, please don’t hesitate to contact me!!

Blue denim & Barbie

On Wednesday I went to Leeds and I opted for a casual look, it’s probably more of a spring/summer outfit but I will continue to dress for the warmer months throughout the cold… I’m also not a fan of huge coats…!!

Denim jacket from New Look. Similar links – ASOSTopshop – I got this jacket last summer and I’ve been loving it ever since, you can wear it with anything and the rips really add an edgy vibe. I love any denim jacket as they’re so easy to style and are perfect for times when a coat isn’t needed!

T-shirt – Missguided – As you might already know I love the Missguided x Barbie collab, mainly for the t-shirts as I live in them. This one is from their most recent release and it’s so cute! I love how their designs are so different and unique! It’s also so comfy to wear!

Jeans from New Look. Similar links – Topshop, River Island – I love these jeans! I couldn’t find them on the New Look website which I’m super sad about as I was looking to buy another pair. If you know me you’ll know how picky I am when it comes to jeans… So for me to say I love these is a big deal!

Slip-on Vans – Vans – I absolutely love Vans, especially their slip-on design. These checkerboard ones are so easy to style with anything! They add a really cool vibe to a simple outfit and I’m too obsessed. I realllly want the all white ones for summer as they would be perfect!

Skincare routine

I’ve had a morning and night routine for as long as I can remember as skincare is super important! I also switch it up quite a bit as I’m always trying new products!

For my morning routine, below are the products I use…

Garnier Natual Aloe Extract Moisturiser – Superdrug – This is my favourite moisturiser ever because it’s so cooling and refreshing which is exactly what my skin needs.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe Cucumber and Green Tea – Beauty Bay – I use this throughout the day as well as part of my morning and night routine, it’s honestly sooo refreshing and I love it SO much.

In my night routine I use the products below…

*Bioderma Sensibio H2O – Boots – This cleanser removes makeup sooo well, better than the more well-known brands!! It’s also for sensitive skin which is perfect for my skin type, Bioderma do offer other cleansers depending on your skin type which is fab.

*Bioderma Sensibio Light Cream – Boots – I really like this moisturiser, again being specifically for sensitive skin makes me love it! I know some sensitive skin products can still be too sensitive for some skin types, often mine included but this one really doesn’t irritate!

Simple Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser – Superdrug – This foaming cleanser is something I often use in the shower or after using micellar water. You can also use it in place of a makeup remover (wipes, micellar water, etc) as well as it’s really good at getting your makeup off! Mascara not so much though.

Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash – Superdrug – I’ve used this for a long time and I love that you can use it as a gentle exfoliator or a stronger one.

I try and remember to use face masks and a facial steamer. I don’t have a current favourite face mask but if you can recommend any, let me know!

Everyday winter makeup

We’re back with an everyday makeup look and I am surprised to say there has been a few changes to my routine since my last installment back in November, nothing too drastic of course…

Below is a list of products I use without fail when I apply makeup !!

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Priming Base – Superdrug – Well I’m still using this primer which must mean it’s doing it’s job! If you like a matte base I recommend you try this.

Mac Prep + Prime Fix + – Mac – If you haven’t already noticed I’m obsessed with facial sprays and I use this one as another primer.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer – Superdrug – I have been loving this concealer for years, to say it’s literally £4 you cannot go wrong.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Makeup Sponge – Superdrug – I will always use a sponge over a brush to blend in my concealer/foundation! Leaves a much nicer finish.

e.l.f. Perfect Finish HD Powder Sheer – Superdrug – So I just use this to set wherever I’ve put my concealer so it doesn’t crease, it’s really good for the price!

Tanya Burr Perfect Brows – Superdrug – I think you would have to drag me away from this product as I’ve been using it years but I really love it, I only use the Hot Cocoa shade and it does the job! My eyebrows are the most stressful part of my routine and everyday I hope they cooperate.

Benefit Hoola bronzer – Boots – I absolutely love love love this bronzer and if you know me I am a huge fan of being tan LMAO. It’s matte aswell which is perfect for me.

Sleek Makeup Highlighter Palette Solstice – Superdrug – I use the bottom left shade in the inner corner of my eyes mainly, although I sometimes use it on the brow bone and even as eyeshadow! They’re all super pretty colours.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – Superdrug – I’ve started using this mascara again and I absolutely love it, if you haven’t tried it you have to it’s amazing, makes your lashes so long!

NYX Professional Makeup Control Freak Eyebrow Gel – Boots – Okay so I have been using this product for literally 18 months? And it still hasn’t ran out! It’s sooo good and makes my eyebrows stay on my face which is always a good thing!

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder – Superdrug – Another product I’ve been using for years is this pressed powder, always about that shine control!!

Makeup Revolution Setting Spray Pro Fix Oil Control – Superdrug – Again with the facial sprays.. I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks and have realised it doesn’t “stop the shine for up to 12 hours” like it claims, but at this point I will use any facial spray lmaooo.

Another list… This time with products I don’t use everyday as I’m usually very casual but if I’m pushing the boat out I will.

Kylie Cosmetics So Cute Gloss – Kylie Cosmetics – If I’m in the mood for gloss (which is most days) this is my go-to!

NYX Professional Makeup Lip Lingerie (Bedtime Flirt) – Boots – If I’m not feeling the gloss (a rare occasion) I will opt for this matte lipstick which I absolutely adore!

Morphe 25B Bronzed Mocha Eyeshadow Palette – Beauty Bay – Morphe – I looove Morphe eyeshadow and I’ve been using this one a lot lately! I love brown shades as they’re super easy to work with.

L’Oreal 24H-Matte Waterproof Foundation – Superdrug – I’ve finally bought a foundation… I know… Absolute madness. I still rarely wear it BUT I have one ready for those days where concealer just won’t do.

January favourites

For the first Friday of the month I’m going to post a monthly favourites for the previous month, so today it’s my favourites from throughout January!

Babyliss Curl Secret – Boots – I’ve been using this on and off throughout the month as it curls my hair within a few minutes and holds them really well, definitely worth the price.

Mario Badescu facial spray – Beauty Bay – I got this for Christmas and I have been loving it since then, I use it as a part of my day and night skincare routines aswell as to set my makeup. It’s super refreshing and I’m just obsessed.

New Look Blush spritz – New Look – This body spray is literally the nicest smell ever omg, it’s super cheap aswell!

Apple Airpods – Apple – I treat myself to a pair of Airpods at the start of the month and they’re super worth it because they’re so easy to use and compact. I also have a case from Amazon for them because I don’t want to scratch the case (lol), it’s actually really useful and I recommend you get one if you have Airpods.

5-year memory book – Waterstones – I have been filling this in since January 2017 and I love this kind of thing, you just write a few lines about your day every single day for five years!

Bioderma lipsil – Amazon – I’ve been looking for a good lipsil for a while especially in the cold weather and I was recommended to try this Bioderma one and so far I’ve been loving it.

NYX Lip Lingerie – Bedtime Flirt – Boots – I bought this near the end of the month but I couldn’t not include it, Bedtime Flirt is the perfect shade and I love it.

Adidas on Adidas

Adidas is probably my favourite sportswear brand, I loove the three stripes branding. Recently I treat myself to a simple pair of leggings and a hoodie, both of which I have been wanting for a while. I also bought some NMD’s back in 2016 which have literally been the comfiest shoe I have ever owned and can highly recommend them to anyone as they are perfect for exercise and fashion. I’ve put an all-Adidas outfit together to wear just about anywhere…

Adidas black leggings – ASOS – I love wearing leggings to the gym and around the house and these are super high quality as well as afforable (especially when ASOS has 20% off…). They are a perfect length and I just looove them.

Adidas black hoodie – ASOS – I love wearing hoodies at anytime of the year but especially in the colder weather, this one is really comfy and again, really good quality (why I love Adidas). Black goes with absolutely anything which is why my entire wardrobe is basically all neutrals.

Adidas NMD_R1 from Footlocker. Similar links – Adidas – My NMD’s are my favourite purchase ever and are still as comfy and supportive as the day I bought them. I wear these to the gym as well as on a daily basis as they’re just so pretty and easy to wear.

Adidas tee – ASOS (similar) – I rarely wear this tee to be honest but it’s super cute with the three stripes down the arms.

Adidas cap – ASOS – I have to be in the mood to wear a cap and it’s usually in the summer but this one is all black with a logo and it’s fab.

What’s on my iPhone

I love reading blog posts and watching YouTube videos about what people have on their phones as I think what apps you have really says a lot about you!

Below is a list of my favourite apps / what I use most frequently.

Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat are my fave social medias because they’re so easy to engage with and you can literally post anything you want. Out of the three Instagram is definitely my favourite because I love photos.

I use Apple Music basically every minute of everyday whether it’s on my Macbook or my phone, I prefer it over Spotify literally just because of how pretty it is and the fact it’s Apple lmao.

VSCO is another of my top apps as I use that to edit my pictures, the layout of it and the fact you can post to your VSCO feed is also really cool.

I love YouTube even though I usually just watch videos on my laptop, my favourite people to subscribe to are Olivia Jade, The Ingham Family and Sophie Clough (a bit of a mix I know)

This is really sad to admit but I use the BBC Weather app a lot as I’m kinda obsessed with checking the weather every morning before I plan what I wear… I’m also slightly obsessed with Notes and Reminders as Notes is literally where I write everything and then Reminders because I forget everything…

These are just a few apps I enjoy using, obviously I use the standard ones like Photos and Messages.

(Btw I have the iPhone 7 Plus in matte black)

Looking back at my 2017 Instagrams

Happy 2018 !!! I hope everyone is enjoying the new year and hasn’t strayed too far from goals made in 2017… This week I decided to pick out a few of my favourite Instagram posts from last year to talk about my outfits/accessories.

img_7052.jpg

These sunglasses were my fashion staple during Spring/Summer and I love how extra they are, will definitely be bringing them back this year. As you can tell I am loving accessories in this post with my watch and necklace as well. The necklace is super cute and easy to wear with it being one necklace, not three.

Necklace (similar) – Missguided, Pretty Little Thing, Topshop

img_7053.jpg

It was my 18th in April and I had a couple of celebrations, I’m wearing some white skinnies with a black bardot top, this is perfect for Spring as the weather can be sunny one minute, cloudy the next. I also love white skinnies in the warmer weather and they go with any top.

Jeans from New Look. Similar links – Topshop, River Island, ASOS

Top from New Look. Similar links – Missguided, PLTTopshop

img_7054.jpg

This outfit just screams summer to me, a simple blue denim skirt with a white shirt. I remember loving this outfit and I wore the top separately with shorts and jeans as well. Again with the simple accessories, my staple bracelet and watch.

Top from Zara.

Skirt from Primark. Similar links – ASOS, Topshop

img_7055.jpg

Back at it again with the bardot top, I love them though, they give such summer vibes. This one has a super nice pattern, black and white stripes with some blue. You can tell I was going to an occasion as I’m wearing my Marc Jacobs watch, Pandora bracelet AND my staple, everyday silver bracelet!

Top from New Look. Similar links – Missguided, ASOS, PLT

img_7056.jpg

This could be my favourite outfit of the year? Literally threw all of my staples together and this is what happened. I know sliders divide us all but I’m honestly a fan of them, they’re so comfy and look so cute. I had also been looking for some blue denim shorts for my whole life and I finally found the perfect ones, I definitely recommend these.

T-shirt – H&M

Shorts – Topshop

Denim jacket from New Look. Similar links – ASOS

Sliders from New Look.

img_7057.jpg

I had to incorporate my everyday outfit which is basically what you see here, a t-shirt and jeans. I love my Barbie t-shirts as you may know if you’ve read my previous posts and grey jeans are a recent favourite to change up the usual black.

T-shirt – Missguided

Jeans – New Look

Comment down below your resolutions/goals for 2018 !!!
